Gawthorpe Hall Training Ground, Burnley FC

Burnley FC’s Training Centre is a modern, purpose-built high-performance facility located in Padiham, Lancashire, adjacent to the historic setting of Gawthorpe Hall. Officially opened in 2017, the complex brought together the club’s First Team, Development Squad and Academy under one roof for the first time, creating an integrated environment focused on performance and excellence.

Designed to meet the demands of elite professional football, the training ground features a comprehensive range of outdoor and indoor training facilities. Multiple meticulously maintained natural grass pitches provide high-quality training surfaces throughout the year, complemented by artificial and all-weather playing areas that support training in all conditions and meet the requirements of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP). The variety of training environments enables teams to tailor preparation programmes to specific performance objectives while maintaining the highest professional standards.

The main training facility also houses a spacious and modern first-team dressing room, alongside dedicated medical, rehabilitation and sports science areas. A key feature of the complex is the Performance Centre, a state-of-the-art strength and conditioning facility equipped with the latest cardiovascular, plyometric and functional training equipment. Designed specifically for elite footballers, the centre provides an exceptional environment for physical preparation, athletic development and recovery.
